Inspect the proposed trade
Base's trading integration guide distinguishes price information from an executable quote. Check chain, token contracts, amounts and the quote's current conditions. A displayed price is not a guarantee that execution will match it.
Read the requested spender
An ERC-20 route may require an allowance. Use the spender documented for the actual route, not an arbitrary address from a message. Quote review and permission review are separate checks; do not approve during this lesson.
Audit a paper quote
Use a fictional quote with no live wallet.
- Write input and output contract labels.
- Add an expiry and spender label.
- Circle anything that lacks an official source.
A missing identity or spender check is a reason to stop.
Read the route and its permissions before any signature.
