A bridge changes the route, not just the price
Distinguish bridging from a local swap.
A portal can show several networks and assets in one interface. Keep their boundaries visible.
- Same-network swap
- Cross-network bridge
- Different destination identity
Read both sides
Polygon Portal presents bridge operations between networks. Identify source, destination and token representation. Moving an asset across networks is different from exchanging two assets already on Polygon PoS.
Prepare without authorizing
Inspect the current portal documentation and supported route before connecting. Check the destination token and expected process, not just the source ticker. Do not assume every Polygon-branded network or historical bridge route is interchangeable.
Classify the request
Use fictional routes only.
- Write Polygon token A to Polygon token B.
- Write Ethereum asset A to Polygon representation A.
- Label the first swap and the second bridge.
The destination network determines the kind of operation.
Check both networks and the exact destination asset.
