Prepare a NEAR account with Meteor
Understand named-account setup without making a required deposit.
Meteor is this course's wallet example. Its publisher's guide is the starting point, with no affiliation implied.
Follow the named-account flow
From Meteor's official wallet, choose Get Started, then Create new wallet. Set a local password and choose an available account name or Use Implicit Account. Privately record the recovery phrase in order, acknowledge the backup and complete the requested word check before Finish. Confirm the network shown alongside the account; stop if current creation requires payment.
Keep the account separate from the app
Never share recovery material for an app interaction. Record the public account and network, then inspect the requested key scope.
Map the setup choices
Complete the exercise from the official guide; account creation is optional.
- List the named and implicit account options in the guide.
- Find the recovery step and identify what must never go in public notes.
- If any current setup asks for funds, stop and finish the exercise by observation instead.
A useful wallet plan does not depend on paying to complete a tutorial.
Document the public account and protect every private recovery method.
Progress stays on this device.
