Read execution status and the components of an Aptos fee.
A transaction hash helps locate a request. The result tells you whether its intended work happened.
Separate work from stored state
Aptos fees account for execution and input/output work as well as storage. Gas unit price and maximum gas amount describe the proposed budget; the final charge reflects actual accounting, including applicable storage refunds. Read current estimates instead of copying a fixed APT amount from a previous example.
Read the completed result
The Aptos Explorer provides transaction history and contract information for its selected network. Check the success or failure result, called function and balance changes. An application's submitted hash is useful for tracking, but it should be followed through to the execution result before the action is considered complete.
Compare two public results
Read already completed transactions without submitting a new one.
- Find one successful and one failed transaction on an Aptos explorer.
- Compare their status and gas information.
- Describe what evidence establishes that an action completed, beyond the presence of a hash.
A recorded transaction can have a failure result and still show a resource cost.
Track the hash, read the result, then reconcile the state changes.
