Inspect asset controls, minimum balances and the network hosting a proposed trade.
A registered token can have rules beyond the symbol shown in a wallet.
Read the asset's controls
Hub records describe asset roles, metadata and balance rules. Authorized roles may mint, freeze or administer an asset. Check its exact identity and controls before using liquidity. Registration does not certify the issuer or market.
Check the asset's minimum and sufficiency
Minimums are asset-specific. Sufficient assets can support an account without DOT; other assets differ. Check current sufficiency, minimum-balance rules and accepted fee payment before a transfer or trade. Avoid a universal keep-this-much-DOT rule.
Build an asset review sheet
Use an official Hub asset example. No deposit, approval or trade is required.
- Record its network and asset ID or location.
- Locate available administrative, minimum-balance and sufficiency information.
- List the fee-payment question separately and mark missing fields as unresolved.
Token identity, issuer powers and account requirements can be researched before interacting.
Check the asset's actual rules and fee network before a first use.
