閱讀英語原文 →An account is more than a wallet
Distinguish Solana data accounts from executable programs.
On Solana, the word account also describes where application data lives.
- Wallet authorizes
- Program executes
- Data account changes
Addresses locate data
Solana accounts have addresses and hold data or executable code. An account's owner is a program controlling changes to its data. That ownership field does not simply mean the human holding a wallet.
Programs perform the work
Transactions call program instructions that operate on accounts. Separate the wallet authorizing an action, the program executing it and the data accounts it changes.
Draw a tiny application
Work on paper, with fictional addresses.
- Draw a wallet and a program separately.
- Add a data account beside the program.
- Mark which part stores application state.
An account address can identify something other than a person.
Read the account's role, not just its address.
