Software and deployment
OP Stack is a set of software components for building layer-two networks. OP Mainnet is a specific deployment. Other OP Stack chains have their own network identities and operational settings.
Understand the rollup connection
OP Mainnet executes transactions separately from Ethereum and uses its rollup infrastructure to connect to Ethereum. Related software does not make transfers between deployments ordinary same-network payments.
Separate the labels
Make a paper map only.
- Write OP Stack above two network boxes.
- Label one OP Mainnet and one Base.
- Keep a separate balance column in each.
Shared software does not create a shared account balance.
Name the specific network before following its instructions.
