Đọc bản gốc tiếng Anh →A tiny price is not a tiny valuation
Calculate a market cap and ask which supply a valuation uses.
Put the supply beside the price. The decimal places alone cannot do the comparison.
- Price per token
- Which supply?
- Valuation
- What is still unknown?
Multiply the right two numbers
Circulating market cap multiplies price by circulating supply. Fully diluted measures use a broader supply basis, so read the provider's definition and supply assumptions. Neither calculation tells you how much cash holders could collectively withdraw by selling.
Leave unknowns visible
A provider may lack a verified circulating supply. CoinGecko's on-chain documentation says unverified market cap is returned as unknown, and a displayed valuation elsewhere may instead be FDV. Treat those as different measures rather than filling a missing figure with a confident guess.
Two fictional coins
Coin A costs $0.01 with one billion circulating units. Coin B costs $10 with one million circulating units.
- Calculate the circulating market cap of each: both are $10 million.
- Write what additional supply information you would want.
- Explain why neither valuation establishes that all holders can sell at the displayed price.
Unit price alone cannot tell you whether a project is small or cheap.
Write the supply assumption beside every valuation.
