A listed token still needs an identity check
Inspect origin and contract before selecting a token.
A token list makes navigation easier. It cannot settle every question about the asset.
- Source and destination networks
- Exact token contracts
- Supported swap or bridge route
Lists describe representations
Optimism's token-list documentation distinguishes assets and their contracts across networks. A bridged representation can have a different address and origin from a natively issued asset with a similar label.
Check what the route accepts
Compare the network and exact contract with current official token documentation. Check whether the destination expects native or bridged assets. Inclusion in a token list is not an endorsement, and it does not guarantee a safe swap or liquid market.
Two contracts on paper
Do not connect to a token-list application.
- Draw native and bridged versions separately.
- Give each a fictional contract label.
- Mark which a fictional recipient accepts.
Similar names do not erase origin differences.
Verify the exact representation before a quote or approval.
