Leave room for the network fee
Distinguish the asset being sent from its transaction fee.
A token balance does not automatically provide the fee needed to move it.
- Recipient + asset amount
- Current ETH fee estimate
- Transaction review
Gas measures work
Ethereum charges for processing transactions. Sending ETH and running a contract can involve different amounts of work. Fees change with network conditions, so a remembered dollar figure is not a reliable budget.
Read before sending
Check the current ETH fee estimate, recipient and amount. Ethereum.org lists explorers including Blockscout. A transaction record shows status, recipient and fee; a submitted message alone is insufficient.
Read a public receipt
No wallet connection or transaction is needed.
- Open Blockscout through the official explorer directory.
- Choose a public transaction from a recent block.
- Locate its recipient, status and fee.
A receipt separates the transfer result from its processing cost.
Review the current fee on the selected network.
