Use the documented MetaMask example
Install through MetaMask's official site. Choose a new wallet and its Secret Recovery Phrase method. Keep the 12 English words privately offline in order, and complete the password prompts.
Read the network identity
Select OP Mainnet, 10, or OP Sepolia, 11155420, through Optimism's current guide. ETH pays fees. Copy the network's public address from the account menu, check it and stop unfunded.
Compare the two settings
Observe the guide, or optionally configure a new unfunded wallet.
- Locate Mainnet and Sepolia in the guide.
- Write down their chain IDs.
- Add public-address and fee-currency checks.
A governance token and network fee currency can differ.
Read ETH and the chain ID in the network settings.
