The term describes a style of participation centered on new token launches, rapid narrative changes, and uncertain liquidity. Participants may monitor mint addresses, early holders, pools, and social messages. These activities can involve genuine communities as well as manipulation and misleading promotion. There is no universal dataset defining everyone in the trenches, so a statement that a fixed share of all participants loses money needs a specific study and cannot be assumed from the slang alone.

Why a quoted gain can mislead
A small purchase can move the displayed price of a shallow market. Multiplying that price by a large supply creates a headline valuation without showing how much liquidity could actually be withdrawn by sellers. An early holder's unrealized gain also depends on executable exit prices and token permissions. As an illustrative example, a screenshot valuing a large balance at the latest tiny trade does not prove that the entire balance could be sold at that price.

Evidence before narrative
Verify the canonical token identifier, mint and freeze controls, pool depth, holder classifications, and the sources of promotional claims. Research on social manipulation shows why repeated messages do not necessarily represent independent enthusiasm. A renounced authority, locked pool, or successful small sale addresses only a limited question and should not be treated as comprehensive proof of safety. Explain observed facts and uncertainty without turning community language into encouragement to take a position or an unsupported accusation against a project.
