Lire l’original anglais →Nexus explores a standardized connection among domestic instant payment systems. Instead of building a unique bilateral integration for every pair of networks, a participating system can work toward a common scheme and technical model. This is relevant to crypto education because cross-border payment infrastructure is often compared with stablecoins. Nexus itself should not be labeled a cryptocurrency or assumed to require a blockchain merely because it pursues faster international payments.
Consider a sender paying from one domestic account to a recipient using another country's payment system. The transaction can require foreign-exchange conversion, message translation, identity and compliance checks, and coordinated funds movement. Connecting the payment rails does not make these functions disappear. The design needs to specify who supplies conversion quotes, how fees are disclosed, how participants communicate failures, and when the receiving customer can use the funds.
A stablecoin transfer moves a token between supported addresses, while an instant-payment interlinking system connects account-based domestic payment services. Both still depend on access, liquidity, operational reliability, and legal arrangements. Comparing only transaction speed can hide differences in redemption, reversibility, user eligibility, and settlement assets. Read Nexus milestones from dated official project material; participation in development should not be represented as proof that every advertised corridor is already a live service for all customers.
